A Welcome Back to Chester County Day 2013
Painting of the Lowndes Taylor Farm, shown in original gilded frame by artist Bass Otis. In the summer of 1835, he visited the farm, just north of West Chester on the Pottstown Pike (now Route 100). This dramatic panorama includes the mill in the left foreground, and the Conestoga wagon, plying its way northward just out of West Chester. Courtesy of the Chester County Historical Society.
